Amoris laetitia (“The joy of love” in Latin) is the second post-synodal apostolic exhortation of Pope Francis, signed on March 19, 2016 and made public on April 8 of the same year.
As indicated in the subtitle, the document deals with love in the family, which is why explicit mention is made of Christian spouses in the part that indicates to whom it is addressed.
This exhortation is published, having concluded two synods, one extraordinary and one ordinary (in this case on the family), which took place in Vatican City in October 2014 and 2015 respectively
